Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) is a global movement. Our Christian ministry started in 1945 when a group of Second World War pilots were brought together with a shared vision to use their aviation skills for help rather than harm while spreading the transformational love of Jesus Christ.
MAF Chad started operations in 1966 with a Cessna 185 amphibian supporting medical work on Lake Chad. Now, after more than 50 years, MAF Chad is operating two aircraft providing transportation services to a wide range of organizations and individuals working to help the people of Chad.
For countless communities in Chad, the sight and sound of one of our small aircraft arriving symbolizes hope. It may be bringing vaccinations, food, school books, mosquito nets, building materials, bibles translated into a mother tongue or the best chance of reaching high quality medical care.
Our aircraft transform days on foot across inhospitable terrain or long hours in a vehicle over dangerous and rugged terrain into minutes in the air. Doctors, teachers, relief and development workers, church and mission teams, government officials, and even local produce growers are assisted by the services that MAF provides in Chad.
We work closely with a phenomenal network of partners both inside Chad and abroad to ensure practical, medical and spiritual care is delivered in places with the deepest need.
